Rowan Norrie MA is the founder of Mountain Ash Consulting. The company takes its name from the rowan tree or mountain ash, which is found throughout Europe and is particularly suited to the wild, mountainous areas of Scotland, where it is a pioneer plant in the redevelopment of the ancient Caledonian Forest.

The company is based in Bonkle, North Lanarkshire, conveniently located between Glasgow and Edinburgh. We have facilities for workshops and a laboratory for design and testing of electronic equipment.

Rowan Norrie has over 20 years experience in marketing, new product development and business development for companies ranging from small start-ups to large multinationals such as Johnson & Johnson and ICL. Rowan has worked extensively in Europe, Africa and the US for a range of industries, including medical, electronic, education, agricultural and fisheries.

Rowan has a degree in languages from St Andrews University and a post-graduate diploma in international marketing and business studies from Napier University, Edinburgh. Rowan has also attended a course in New Product Development at Harvard Business School.

Tony Casey has nearly 30 years’ experience working in the electronics industry, and has held a number of R&D positions: most notably with BT Research, Nortel Networks and Siemens. Since 1990, Tony has worked chiefly in the mobile communications arena specialising in system design consultancy, design engineering and volume product development and management. Before becoming an associate for Mountain Ash Consulting in 2002 Tony was European Systems and Applications Manager for Anadigics Inc, a leading RFIC company.

Alan Rudland has a BSc from St Andrews University and spent fifteen years working in the financial sector. He has experience both as an IT Systems Developer/ Programmer and IT Project Manager. Alan holds a qualification as a CIW Associate (Certified Internet Web Professional).
